WOW 3 Vintage Bubblecut BARBIE LOT Lemon Blonde Titian Redhead Brunette AG BIN
These 3 pretty Bubblecut Barbies are definitely the Ladies Who Lunch! This Bubblecut Barbie doll lot shows the big variety in the looks of bubblecut dolls; it includes a 1963 Lemon Blonde, a 1963 Fudge Brunette with the American Girl face mold, and a 1961 Titian Redhead Bubble. These dolls have all been played with and are not for "Mint" collectors.
They all have had some retouching to their make-up with water-based acrylic paint (which is removable with soap and water if you don't like it). But they don't have any green ears, haircuts, or neck splits; and their bodies are all in Excellent shape. The Lemon Blonde has some tiny pinch marks on both sides of her nose tip, and a 1/8 scrape at her right earring hole. These flaws don't really show up at a normal viewing distance, but they are there if you look at her super close up.
She is still a very pretty doll. All of the dolls will come with pearl on filament earrings that won't cause any green ear stains.
I don't rate anything as "Mint" unless I've just removed it from its original packaging. 1963 Lemon Blonde Bubblecut: This girl reminds me of Lemon Chiffon Pie! She is very sensual with her big light creamsicle lips and swoopy bangs of light blonde hair. I like the way her smoother style bubble hairdo wants to be like a page boy style.
Her coral lips were retouched, but her eyebrows are all original. The brows are a little faded, but they all there with no rubs. She has a some original smokey eyeshadow. She has some very slight remnants of extra eyelashes in ink below her right eye, barely visible in close-up pic #9. She has never had any green ear stains. She has 3 poke marks at her left ear (see pic #8), and her right ear has a 1/8 long scrape extending up from the earring hole toward her cheek, shown in pics #9 & 10.These very enlarged pics make the scrape look much worse than it is in real life. I think she had a couple earring holes at her right ear, with a scrape between the holes, but her pearl on filament earring does stays in. I've pictured her with pearl on filament earrings in, which cover most of the scrape. She has some tiny indent marks around her nose tip on both sides.
I also took a lot of pics of her to show this; pics #8 & 9 show the nose best. I don't think her nose issues spoil her good looks, unless you look at her with a magnifier or at less than 6 away. Her Excellent body is the later issue marked Midge 1962/Barbie 1958.
She doesn't have any stains or swingy limbs, and she has all of her nail polish. She has a little light scratching around the base of her neck, but this only shows at a super close range.1963 Fudge Brunette Bubblecut: This later dark brunette bubblecut Barbie was voted the Girl Most Likely To Succeed! She has the wider American Girl face mold, and lots of thick wavy hair in a full size bubble. She has a nice light skin tone with no discoloration. Her brows were mostly all there, but just a little faded, so she has had a color wash over them to give them a little extra oomph. Her coral lips had rubs, so they have been retouched.
She doesn't have any green ears, nose nips, or neck splits. Her Excellent body is the earlier marked Midge 1962/Barbie 1958 on the right butt cheek. She has all of her nail polish, and her joints are nice and tight. Her right pinky finger has a small indent.
She has some scratching/wear on her shoulder blades, and a couple scratch marks below her waist maybe from doll stands? Her breast tips have very light play wear.
She has a pinhead size dot of pink on the top of her left foot (right in the pic), just above the shoe strap area. She has a tiny brown pin point speck on the side of her left calf. She has a small 1/16 poke/scratch at the side of her right calf. 1961 Redhead Titian Bubblecut: This cute redhead always livens up a party! She has a full wavy bubble of vivid red hair, much like Lucille Ball's hair do from the later Lucy Ball Show.
Though she is on an earlier 1961 body, she has a fuller face mold of transitional bubbles. She has a nice complexion with no discoloration. Her brows had some rubbing at the tips, so they have been refreshed with acrylic. She has lots of original smokey eyeshadow. Her raspberry lips had rubs, so they are also retouched.
No green ears, neck splits, or nose nips. (Please note pic #12 has a hair hanging down on the back of her neck, but it is not a neck split). She has the earlier Barbie MCMLVIII marked body.
Her body is in great shape with no stains, and has all of its nail polish. Her limbs are tight with no finger chews.She has a light scratch at the top of her left arm. She has a pin point bluish speck on the back of her right thigh, barely visible in pic #12. She has another pin point dark speck on her left forearm, it is hard to spot. Please note that the slightly soiled spots on the back of her calves cleaned off. These cute vintage Bubbles are ready to strut their stuff in your doll cabinet!
